Hello Doggys and Owners!  My name is Kelsey and I am Owner and Pack Leader of Queen of Paws Dog Walking.  I am a Certified Professional Dog Walker who is licensed, bonded and insured.  I also have Dog First-Aid in preparation for your safety.  Lets go on an adventure together <3

Why Dog Walking?

My love for dogs started as a child for our family pet, but grew even more when Buffy the Boxer came into my life as my very own pet and family member 8 years ago.  She has changed my life in many ways.  Buffy gave me the excuse to be outdoors everyday and enjoy a good power walk.  My fitness and overall well being improved greatly.  Unsure of what to do with my BFA Degree from Kwantlen Ploytechnic University, and working an unpleasant job, I longed to find a career that would make me happy.  I was always walking and pet sitting my friend's dogs and came to the epiphany that dog walking is what I want to do (aside from being an artist).  I feel working with dogs is so rewarding and peaceful as they are such loving creatures. May day is only complete if I have been outside walking dogs as this is my passion. 

My Experience and Training

Aside from my pet sitting and dog walking experience over the last 8 years, I have obtained my Professional Dog Walker Certificate from Langara College. Jill Taggart, PhD in developmental Social Psychology, was my instructor for the program.  She has a Masters of Science in Animal Behaviour and researches the animal-human bond.  We were tought, through classroom and practical skills, about a variety of events and things that could and will be encompassed in being a Professional Dog Walker.  I have learned to deal with different types of dog behaviour and aggression and the different types of training and its effectiveness.  I also have training in Dog-First Aid to ensure your dogs safety is optimal incase of injury.  Walking dogs is a serious matter as they are our pets and family member.  Your dog's safety comes 1st to Queen of Paws Dog Walking.
